La comunicación interpersonal en la relación enfermera paciente / The interpersonal communication in the relationship patient-nurse

La enfermera requiere de competitividad profesional, múltiples habilidades y relación armónica enfermera-paciente; por tanto, es muy importante que tome en cuenta que a diario transmite un impacto personal mediante su comunicación. Todas las personas cuentan con los mismos elementos en este proceso: (cuerpos, valores, expectativas del momento, órganos de los sentidos, capacidad para hablar­palabras y voz­ y cerebro; éste último por el conocimiento que ha quedado registrado en los dos hemisferios cerebrales). La comunicación es un proceso delicado y complicado mediante el cual nos podemos entender para vivir con los demás, así como solucionar conflictos con los semejantes y con uno mismo. En el caso de la comunicación interpersonal esto significa conectarse con otra persona en un nivel emocional, y no sólo en un nivel intelectual. En el caso específico de la relación enfermera-paciente, nueve habilidades pueden coadyuvar a enriquecer la importante labor que desempeña, i ése que espera el paciente ! A veces, de tanto ver cosas se olvida de mirar y de tanto oír voces y ruidos diferentes se le olvida escucharlos. Hoy en día, con sólo observar a los pacientes se puede dar cuenta que ­en muchas ocasiones­ el hospital resulta un lugar hostil, de soledad, le infunde temor, miedo y, por ende, necesidad imperante de comunicarse con los demás. La enfermera, por su contribución afectiva y potencial, es un puntal en la recuperación de la salud del mismo.

The communication is a delicate and complicated process by means of which we can understand each other to live with the other ones as well as to solve conflicts with our fellow men and ourselves. In the case of the interpersonal communication this means to be connected with another person in an emotional level, not only in an intellectual level. For it and for the specific case of the nurse-patient relationship, this article describes nine abilities that can cooperate to enrich the important work that the nurse carries out. Sometimes, from seeing things and patient we forget to look and from hearing voices and different noises we forget to listen to them. Today in day, in our reality, just by observing our patients we can realize that ­en many occasions­ the hospital is a hostile place, they are alone, afraid, and, prevailing necessity to communicate with the other ones. The nurse, for her affective and potential contribution, is a prop in the recovery of the health of the same one (who can advance more quickly when having more trust toward her treatment).
